@TSNBobMcKenzie: Draft lottery odds cont'd: 8. BUF (3.6), 9. NJ (2.7), 10. DAL (2.1), 11. PHI/PHX (1.5), 12. PHX/PHI (1.1), 13. WPG (.80), 14. CBJ (.50).

Hmm so buffalo can pick 1, 8, or 9. Who's buff eyeballing at those spots? Woulda been awesome to see buff get a top 4 pick...

The Buffalo Sabres will not be getting two lottery picks in this Monday night’s NHL lottery draft after all.
- GARTH

Darn... we missed out on a .5% chance of getting the top pick.

They're going to be out in round 1 and we're going to get the #16 pick instead of the #14. This is really not a big deal.

Sorry guys, I know you wanted that lottery pick but I still think Buffalo did quite well in that trade. Hoping Pommer is good to go against Chicago. This could be one ugly series.

The Canucks are effed contract-wise next year. 8 UFA's and 3 RFA's to sign with about 4 million in cap space.

I would be interested in Alex Edler and Derek Roy (lol jk)

Also notable are Dany Heatley who will likely be bought out and possibly Lecavalier and Briere.

Luongo and Booth?

Still would have problems resigning 11 players

You're assuming that Florida will get the #1 overall pick, and that Miller didn't put them on his list of 8 teams.

HINT: There is a 98% chance Miller put Florida on that list.

Shinkaruk would be a nice fit. Sabres don't have much for scoring wingers on the left side as far as prospects go. I've heard Kane/Kessel comparisons.
Nurse is another target, would toughen up their blueline. My guess is he's gone by 8 though.

I think most of us ear glad he was able to go out on his own terms, rather than having a concussion end it for him. I'm also not sad he won't be playing for us next year.

Miller goes to the Islanders in the offseason, IMO. Makes sense for him wifey-wise, he gets a bigger market on a young playoff team, and he'd help there a lot.
